Where AI is used on AIamond

A language model (AI) reads the title and summary of news articles from other publishers and records which market the text is about, which way it reads (−1 to +1) and one passage copied word for word, which our code checks against the text. These are labels: market, tone and the hit rates we measure from them are data, not sentences.

One place on AIamond shows text that a model wrote: the News Picture. It carries the label “AI” at the top of the text. No person reviews it before it appears. It describes what the cited articles say. It is not our opinion, not a forecast and not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything.

Titles and summaries of articles in another language are translated automatically by a model; where a translation is shown, it carries the label “AI” and the original is linked. The summaries under headlines are the publishers' own text, shortened; we do not rewrite them.

Pages and paragraphs written by people, such as this one, the method, the change log and the legal pages, carry no label.

For machines: every API item that carries model-written text has an “ai” block with the model, the time and the SHA-256 of the exact text. Anyone can check a text's hash at /api/v1/ai-content/verify.
